Persona 4 - know your fate by y-o-s-s-i Persona 4 - know your fate by y-o-s-s-i
Resuming my Persona picture dump ;)

Although I'm sad that there are hardly any group pictures of our Velvet Room trio, I'm still very happy with the photos I got. The Leipzig Bookfair convention site is a fitting backdrop for these costumes and the lighting conditions were great, as well.

In this picture, you can see some of the tarot cards I made. When I uploaded this picture to another website, I got a lot of people questioning me about how many takes we needed to get that card trick right. But it's not a trick at all! It's far more simple (disappointingly so, even): I simply threaded the cards on a thin nylon thread with loops at both ends, which is pretty much invisible on most pictures. Hope this revelation didn't spoil it for you! XD

One more thing I like about this picture is that you can see the different fabrics I used. I had a hard time finding the right fabrics and ended up using quilted lining fabric, making this costume very thick and impossible to wear in summer. The texture looks great on pictures, though, so it's worth it.

Thank you very much! Margaret seems to be a bit underrated judging by how rare Margaret cosplays are...

Thank you!
I scanned the tarot card artworks from the artbook (you can find it on the internet, too, just google "persona tarot cards"), printed them out, glued both sides together and laminated them. It was quite easy, actually. If your question is about the "float trick": I simply threaded the cards on a thin nylon thread with loops at both ends, through which I put my hands.

Thank you! I'm glad you like the make-up! I made it a bit darker than on the original artwork in order to bring out the yellow contacts.

Thank you very much! I have to admit that I didn't do the quilting myself, though. The fabric was already quilted and wadded.

BAH! margaret is a sexy woman and you are too! I always wanted to cosplay Elizabeth but thought she was too little girl-ish for me to pull off! And then I saw Margaret and fell in love. I'm glad you cosplayed her because now I don't have to! :P Are you tall? I'm 5'7 which isn't really *that* tall, but I find it difficult to find characters that are on the taller side.

Yes, I am tall. About 5'9 (close to 6'). Most characters are described quite small when you read their official descriptions, but thanks to weird anime proportions look very tall nonetheless (see Sailor Moon - she's supposed to be about 4'9...). Usually I try to look for characters who _look_ tall, like Yuuko. But yes, it's difficult. Most tall women are either ridiculously boyish or at least aren't very curvy - and thus are almost impossible for me to pull off. Margaret is very skinny, too - that's where my self-conciousness concerning this cosplay come from... But thank you very much for your kind words! ;_;

I hate reading official descriptions of height and weight because they are so insanely unrealistic! I am always the tallest person when I cosplay in groups, but I don't always want to choose the tallest character, you know! see this picture lol: [link] I need to come to Germany so us tall girls can cosplay together! :D But really, I think it's awesome that you cosplayed Margaret despite your reservations because you did an outstanding job!

Same here! Although my problem concerning group cosplays is a bit different: I usually team up with ~konzertjunky and my sister, who are just as tall as I am, so that's not really accurate, either XD
Come to Germany! I'd love to team up with you! One day, I'd like to visit a con in the US, too ;o;

Thank you! Oh, a limo would be great *_* They're not as easy to rent here as in the US, though, so I'll have to keep my eyes open for an opportunity.

Hmmm... Or maybe find some sort of nightclub/hotel? Cause if your photographer gets the right angle you can fake the scenery! A lot of places I've been to have those corner chairs. :D

This was at a hotel I went to at a convention in Chicago. So a couch like the one in the back near the window? (it was very Velvet Room looking when they dimmed the lights at night! :D )

I'm sure you can find something similar where you live!! :)

The illusion is shattered! That's a really ingenius way to do the cards. You said you made the tarot cards? How'd you make them?
