Here's the first shot of my new costume: Margaret from Persona 4.
I had already decided to cosplay her last year and was happy to find great Velvet Room siblings in my sister, who cosplayed Elizabeth and ~Videros, who was Theodore. We debuted the costumes last Saturday at Bookfair Leipzig. I will post pictures of our whole group soon!
About the costume: The most difficult part was propably to find nice fabric and I ended up using quilted lining. I like the result, but, well, wearing a fully wadded and lined costume on a warm and sunny day certainly wasn't the brightest idea. (You can't see the quilting on this picture and the blue fabric also looks pretty much black under the artificial light, but I promise you'll be able to see everthing just fine in my next deviantion. I just wanted to submit a full body shot first.) The next problem I faced was the pattern, as Margaret's costume is something between a coat and a dress and I've never sewn anything like it before. Once I figured everything out, it went rather smoothly, though. The big buttons are actually wooden weels for model making which I painted and attached to the coat with velcro, so I could easily take them off for washing and ironing. The tarot cards were scanned from the artbook, then printed out and laminated for more durability. The wig was also styled by myself and was actually sewn together from two seperate wigs.
