Batwoman - Crouching Shadows by y-o-s-s-i Batwoman - Crouching Shadows by y-o-s-s-i
Today, I show you the costume I've been working on these past weeks:
Batwoman a.k.a. Kate Kane.

It was J.H.Williams' Batwoman comics that fully got me back into comics about two years ago and I allthough I truly adore Kate, I was hesistant at first whether I should cosplay her or not - I'm really not athletic at all, nor did I feel I was up to the task of sewing a full catsuit myself. Once my decision to sew this costume for Leipzig Bookfar was made, however, I absolutely enjoyed sewing it and I also felt very comfortable walking the convention grounds as Batwoman (though hardly anyone recognised me).

I had a teensy little photoshoot with ~Andy-K, before we got kicked out of the area we were shooting in for no apparent reason and this is one of the pictures he took. He's a true master with flash lights and I'm in awe of how he managed to make that cramped, bright glass hall look like a nighttime backstreet alley in this picture.

~Andy-K loves using multiple flash units and has pretty much mastered the technique by now.

Its a great technique! I recently did a shoot with effects like that and from what I've seen the results are so cool! I'll have to check out his page too, he does great work! :)

Amazing! I always loved the contrast between the red and black on Batwoman's costume, and you've captured it perfectly here. And incredible amount of work must have gone into this. :D

Thank you very much! The costume was indeed trickier to sew than I'd thought, but I'm glad you like it.

Amazing. Did you do the whole catsuit by yourself. I can't even sew a sock. Congrats. Any thoughts about the DCnU batwoman (52)?

Thank you!
I don't know about sewing socks, but I can't knit a sock, as well, if it's any comfort to you ;)
Actually, I really enjoy New52!Batwoman and it's among my favourite post-reboot titles. But then again, the current run started before the reboot somewhen around Bruce "dying" and Dick taking over the cowl, so maybe it doesn't even count?

The character grew so much in recent years. She is not affected by the Batman/Wayne aura of influence operating out of the radar scope, which is much more gratifying, my opinion. I hope they keep the duo responsible for the first 18 runs, they finally achieve a good solid "personae" construction, I hope DC keep it that way.

Also mmn ist das Bild zu dunkel um das Kostüm gut genug sehen zu können. Kommt also diesmal nicht so gut rüber.
